Before construction
In the days leading up to the start of construction, our teams will be placing a door hanger at homes and businesses to alert residents that Xfinity and Comcast Business services are coming soon. You may see yard signs posted in your neighborhood as well. Additionally, we’ll be in your area to locate and mark existing utilities with flags, and landscape-safe paint in yards and along the road and sidewalks to avoid damage to existing lines during construction.
Construction
During construction, our crews will need to access areas where utility lines are located by way of utility easements.
A utility easement grants utility companies such as water, sewer, electric and cable/telecommunications the legal right to access areas of a property for the good of the community. Reasons for legal access to these properties may include running transmission, underground electric, water, sewer or coaxial/fiber optic lines so that these companies can deliver services to homes and businesses in the area. There may be rare instances when we may not be able to access utility lines for reasons such as a locked or fenced in backyard. In those instances we will attempt to contact the owner.
The construction work will require our crews to enter the area and begin digging or accessing the aerial utility lines. We will make every attempt to minimize the disruption of the area that we are working in.
Post construction
Once the construction process is complete, crews will return to restore lawns where digging occurred. It’s important to note that sometimes factors beyond our control – like weather – may affect when we can return to restore the area.

- We will not need to enter homes or businesses during construction. All work is on the street and outside of homes and businesses. Once construction is completed and Comcast is able to deliver services to your area, you will have the option to order Xfinity or Comcast Business services. At that time, we will coordinate a date and time for a technician to complete any installation work, if needed.
- For residential homes, we ask that residents please keep pets in your house if we are on your property. We may need to access areas of your yard or property that are covered by utility easements. If we need access to your yard or property, we want to make sure your pets are safe and secure.
- Construction workers, Comcast employees, and authorized Comcast contractors wear a safety vest and badge identifying themselves as a Comcast employee or other authorized Comcast contractor.
- Please provide your contact information so that when Comcast services are available in your area, we can share our best offers with you.
