Can I move the Xfinity Gateway to another location?
Please do not move or remove the pre-installed Xfinity Gateway. It should always stay in its pre-installed location to provide the best internet connection for you or future residents.
Can I get online immediately after moving in?
Yes. Since the Xfinity WiFi Gateway is already pre-installed in your home, you can sign up for Xfinity Internet service and activate it right away, without waiting for a tech visit or Getting Started Kit.
What are the benefits of the pre-installed Xfinity Gateway?

After activating your pre-installed Gateway, you’ll be able to use your Internet and Voice services instantly, but if you order additional services, you’ll need to wait until you get your new equipment (whether via Getting Started Kit, Xfinity Store pick-up, or professional installation).
What do I do with the Xfinity Gateway when I move out?
When you move out, make sure to leave the Xfinity Gateway in the pre-installed location. We'll automatically remove it from your account and reset it for the next resident. If you are transferring your account to a new location, visit xfinity.com/moving and we will set you up with a new Gateway.
