Have you found yourself in a situation where you have access to WiFi, but not cellular service? That’s when WiFi calling comes in. It’s a feature offered on most devices on Xfinity Mobile that allows you to talk and text over a WiFi network if cellular service isn't available.
WiFi calling is helpful to have for a few reasons.
- It extends the network coverage area for call and text, especially if you're in a region with poor cellular coverage.
- It's easy to set up. There's no need to download an app or log in to your Xfinity Mobile account. Once you have it enabled, it just works.
- Note: Your phone must be connected to the Xfinity Mobile network in the United States to set up WiFi calling. WiFi calling cannot be enabled outside of the United States.
- WiFi calling becomes even more useful when you're traveling internationally. You can use it to call and send text messages to U.S. numbers for free when you're in another country, saving you international long distance charges.
WiFi calling with Xfinity Mobile expands your reach, helping you communicate from more locations in the U.S. and abroad. Whether you're inside a building with weak cellular service or on an overseas trip, WiFi calling has you covered.

911 calls for people who are deaf, hard of hearing or have a hearing or speech disability
Due to potential technical limitations with TTY calls over WiFi or LTE, Xfinity Mobile recommends that TTY devices not be used to make 911 calls.
People with communications disabilities can reach 911 by using telecommunications relay services such as IP relay, video relay, or IP captioned telephone service. In areas where texting to 911 is available, customers can text 911 directly from their wireless device or call 911 using real-time text (RTT) on RTT-capable handsets.
