The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) now requires all broadband providers to display Broadband and Mobile Facts labels at point-of-sale (online, in-store, and over the phone) for internet and mobile plans available for purchase.
Similar to nutrition labels on food products, Broadband Facts Labels are a simple way for customers to shop, compare, and purchase internet and mobile services. Labels display details such as:
- Plan
- Speed Tier (if applicable)
- Price
- Optional Fees
- Monthly Fees
- One-Time Fees including installation fee, late fees, early termination fees
- Download and upload speeds and latency
- Data included
You can view the labels when shopping for plans online. If you are speaking to an Xfinity agent, they'll provide you with a link to the Broadband and Mobile Facts labels website when you are shopping for internet and mobile services. Here is what you need to know about each component of the label:
- Plan Name: This is the name of the plan, and the speed associated with that plan.
- Monthly Price: This is where you can see how much you'll pay for the plan every month.
- The price may reflect a promotional rate, in which case this section will also specify the current post-promotional rate for the plan.
- Additional Charges and terms: This is where you can find fees that may apply to your plan, such as installation, equipment rental, activation, mobile line fees, taxes, or local fees.
- These fees may vary depending on location and plan type.
- Some fees are one-time, while others are recurring.
- Discounts and Bundles: This links to a page where you can find more information for available billing discounts and pricing options when you bundle internet or mobile service with other services like Xfinity TV and Xfinity Home.
- Speeds Provided with Plan: This section displays the typical measured download and upload speeds, and latency measurements associated with your plan.
- Latency is typically measured in milliseconds and will have an impact on certain applications (such as gaming and video conferencing).
- See our Network Management page xfinity.com/networkmanagement for additional detail.
- Data Included: This is how much data is included with your plan, and what happens if you go over the limit.
- Some plans offer unlimited data, while other plans may require an additional fee if usage exceeds a certain threshold.
- Network Management: This links to a page where you can review relevant policies and other information about our Xfinity Internet and Xfinity Mobile broadband internet access services.
- Privacy: This links to our privacy policy where you can review our policy about your privacy and the protection of your personal information.
- Customer Support: This is how you can get in touch with us if you have any questions or issues with your plan.

FAQs
What information is included on the Broadband and Mobile Facts Labels?
The labels include clear and easy-to-understand information about prices, introductory rates, data allowances, speeds, network management practices, privacy policies, and contact information.
What Broadband and Mobile Facts label(s) are being displayed in my account portal?
The label(s) provided in your account portal represent the label(s) displayed with your most recent purchase of internet and/or mobiles services. If your most recent purchase occurred before the FCC’s broadband labels requirement took effect (April 10, 2024), the label(s) provided in your account portal represent the label(s) that were in effect for your plan on April 10, 2024.
How long will my labels be displayed in my account portal?
Two years after the time when the service plan you are on is no longer available for sale to new or existing customers, the label will be removed from your account. The FCC requires us to retain labels for two years after the plan is no longer available. If you switch to a new plan, the labels shown in your account portal will be updated to reflect the new plan.
What if I can’t find the label I’m expecting?
The FCC’s broadband labels requirement took effect on April 10, 2024. If your plan was no longer available to new customers at that time a label may not exist for your plan. If you switch to a new plan, the label for the new plan will be displayed in your account portal.
When will I start seeing these labels while shopping for broadband services?
Labels were launched on April 10, 2024 and are currently available online.
Why are these labels being introduced?
These labels are required by the FCC to provide consumers with transparent information about broadband services, enabling them to make informed choices.
How will these labels help me as a consumer?
The labels will help you easily compare different broadband services based on cost, performance, data allowances, and other important factors, ultimately helping you choose the best service for your needs.
How will I see the labels when I’m selecting an internet plan?
If you are shopping online, you will see the labels directly next to all internet and mobile plans.
At a retail location, you can scan the QR code that will take you to the Broadband and Mobile Facts website to view the labels. If you are speaking to one of our agents, they will provide you with the link to the Broadband and Mobile Facts website to view the labels.
What kind of information about broadband prices will the labels provide?
The labels will include information about the monthly cost of the broadband service. Labels that list an introductory rate will also specify the current post-promotional period rate for the plan.
Will the labels differentiate between different broadband plans offered by Xfinity?
Yes, the labels will provide information about different broadband plans we currently offer at your location, allowing you to compare them effectively. You can view information about both Xfinity and NOW services.
Why doesn’t my bill match my label exactly?
The FCC's rules specify what content can be included on the label, which may be different from the content shown on your bill. For example:
- If you have multiple Xfinity brand products, any discount for multiple products will not be displayed on the label.
- If you select Auto Pay Paperless Discount for your Xfinity services, that discount is not included in the price listed on the label.
- If you purchase additional internet equipment beyond the gateway, those costs are not listed. These include:
- WiFi Boost Pods
- Storm-Ready WiFi
- If have an Xfinity Mobile device payment plan, that is not listed on the label.
The label(s) displayed in your account portal represent the label(s) associated with your most recent purchase of internet and/or mobile services. If your most recent purchase occurred before the date the FCC’s broadband labels requirement took effect (April 10, 2024), the label(s) displayed in your account portal represent the label(s) that were in effect for your plan on April 10, 2024. The label(s) shown may not reflect any changes that took effect at a later date, such as changes in government fees, speeds, etc.
In some cases, your bill may reflect promotional pricing, and a label reflecting that promotional pricing for your plan may not be available. In that situation, the label shown in your account portal will reflect the non-promotional price.
Do the labels provide information about data allowances or caps?
Yes, the labels will disclose information about any data allowances and fees associated with data usage.
Where can I find details about the privacy policies of the broadband provider?
The labels will include links to information about the provider's privacy policies, allowing you to access detailed information about how your personal data is handled.
Will the labels be updated regularly to reflect any changes in service offerings or prices?
Yes, we will update the labels regularly to ensure that the information remains accurate and up-to-date.
What is a machine readable file?
The FCC requires that the label information for all current internet and mobile plans be available in a machine-readable file, see Xfinity Broadband and Mobile Facts Labels, which computers can easily process. These files cover all in-market offers and are quite large. However, the file doesn't include geographical info, so just seeing a plan doesn't mean you're eligible. Eligibility depends on several factors. To find the best offers for your area, use the Plan Builder or contact an agent.
