If one or more of your Xfinity services isn’t working, you can check to see if a service outage has been reported in your area.
If you don’t need instructions, you can visit the Outage Map to check for service outages in your area or scan the QR code below.
Note: We’re in the process of updating the look and feel of our Support Page. If your experience doesn't look exactly like below, don't worry — we'll be updating it soon. In the meantime, you can still access your outage information.
Xfinity app
You can check for outages using the Xfinity app on your mobile phone. Simply sign in to the Xfinity app and if your location is impacted, outage information appears.

You can tap View outage details to see the following information:
- A basic description of the outage and what you can expect.
- The outage type and its cause.
- The estimated time to fix the outage and status of repairs (if applicable).
Xfinity Outage Map
You can use the Xfinity Outage Map to check for outages. In the Support Page, scroll down and click the View Outage Map button.
You can search for any address serviced by Xfinity.
Navigate the Outage Map
To navigate the Xfinity Outage Map, click the house icon to view outage information for your location, including:
- A basic description of the outage and what you can expect.
- The outage type and its cause.
- The estimated time to fix the outage and status of repairs (if applicable).
You can also click and find more information on any outages that may be affecting your neighborhood.
You can click these additional options on the Xfinity Outage Map:
- The + and – buttons to zoom in and out on the map.
- Report an outage — If you’re experiencing service issues and an outage isn’t reported, click the Report an outage link.
Outage text message alerts
In some instances, we can determine your outage status.
If you've registered your mobile phone number for Xfinity text alerts, you receive proactive text messages for certain service-impacting outage types. You also receive estimated resolution timeframes, periodic updates, and a final message when the services are restored.
Additionally, you can text OUT to 266278 (COMCST) to check for outages in your area. Data and messaging rates may apply.
You can also choose the option to Text me with updates to receive a text message update as soon as your Xfinity services are restored for the account you’re signed in under. To do this:
- Access the Xfinity Outage Map.
- Sign in using your Xfinity ID and password.
- Click Request Text Updates in the outage banner or by clicking your Home icon.
- Enter your mobile phone number in the field provided and select the Get a Text button.
- You get a confirmation message saying you're signed up to receive a text when your services are restored.
Outage credits
- If you were affected by a recent service outage, you may be eligible for a credit to your account.
- To get started, check your eligibility for a credit on the outage credit request page.
- If your account meets all requirements for eligibility, including not having reached the maximum credit limit, a credit will be applied automatically.
- Check to see if you are eligible for a credit from a recent outage:
- Navigate to the Support Page.
- Scroll down to Outage map and credit.
- Click Check credit eligibility.
