It’s our goal to understand the customers we serve every day and empower them to be their authentic selves. All our customers can add or change chosen names and pronouns to their Xfinity and Xfinity Mobile accounts.
Your chosen name can only contain alphabetical characters (A-Z or a-z) and the following special characters: apostrophe, hyphen, and period. Xfinity reserves the right to reject or remove any chosen name that is vulgar, inappropriate, obscene, profane, discriminatory, or that intends to misrepresent the customer’s identity in a potentially harmful way. For example, by indicating falsely that a person is associated with law enforcement or another government entity.
For instructions, see how to change your chosen name and pronouns in the Xfinity app and xfinity.com.
Your legal name will still appear in some places like on your billing statements and shipping labels. To change the name on your billing account, see how to change your name on your account FAQs.
FAQs
Why doesn’t my chosen name appear in some places?
For billing purposes and to help protect against fraud and identity theft, we’ll continue to use your legal name on your Xfinity and Xfinity Mobile billing statements and on shipping labels for your devices and equipment.
How do I add my pronouns to my Xfinity account if they’re not included in your list?
If you don’t see your pronouns listed as an option, you can choose My pronoun is not listed. We’ll continue to add commonly chosen pronouns to the available list over time.
What if I don’t want to add a chosen name and/or pronouns to my account?
Any customer who wants to add a chosen name or pronouns has the option to do so, but it's not required. If you prefer not to answer, you can select I do not wish to answer in the pronouns list.
Why didn’t Xfinity accept my requested chosen name?
Your chosen name can only contain alphabetical characters (A-Z or a-z) and the following special characters: apostrophe, hyphen, and period. Your chosen name may have been rejected if it contained characters other than those accepted by Xfinity.
Additionally, your chosen name may have been rejected if it was vulgar, inappropriate, obscene, profane, discriminatory, or if it was intended to misrepresent your identity in a potentially harmful way.
For questions about why your chosen name was rejected, you can contact Xfinity.
