Reset an Xfinity Camera
Make sure the camera is plugged in to a working power outlet that is not controlled by a light switch. Then, follow the model-specific instructions.
Newest Xfinity Cameras
If your camera has connection issues or there is a blinking amber light on the camera or power adapter, manually restarting the camera may resolve the issue.
- Unplug the power adapter from the wall outlet, wait 10 seconds and then plug it back in.
- The camera will restart and automatically reconnect to WiFi which takes about three minutes.
If the camera still isn't working correctly, resetting the camera may resolve the problem.
- Confirm that the power adapter is plugged into a wall outlet.
- Press and hold the button on the back of the camera for 10 seconds.
- You may need to rotate the stand to see the button.
- When the light on the camera is blinking blue or white, repair the camera using the Xfinity app or Xfinity Home app.
- If you are unable to re-pair the camera, contact us for assistance.
Older Xfinity Indoor and Outdoor Cameras
If your camera has connection issues or there is a blinking amber light on the camera or power adapter, manually restarting the camera may resolve the issue.
Unplug the power adapter from the wall outlet, wait 10 seconds and then plug it back in. The camera will restart and automatically reconnect to WiFi which takes about three minutes total.
Important: Do not press the gray button on the power adapter. Pressing the gray button may result in needing a service visit to bring the camera back online.
If the camera still isn't working correctly, resetting the camera may resolve the problem.
- Press and hold the gray button on the back of the camera for 30 seconds. You may need to rotate the stand to see the button.
- When the light on the camera is blinking blue, use the touchscreen to re-pair the camera.
- If you are unable to re-pair the camera, contact us for assistance.
iCam Cameras
Press the circular black button on the back of the camera until it clicks and hold it down for 35 to 45 seconds. When you release the button, the lights on the front of the camera will blink. Watch for two solid green lights to appear. This can take up to three minutes.
Outdoor camera
Use a non-metallic pointed object (such as a toothpick) to press the reset button on the back of the camera and hold it down for 10 seconds. When you release the button, the Power light will blink once. Wait for it to turn solid. This can take up to three minutes.
Reset a video doorbell
To reset an Xfinity Video Doorbell, remove the trim plate and insert a non-metallic pointed object (such as a toothpick) into the reset pin hole, then gently press the button and immediately release. Remember to put the trim plate back on the video doorbell.Note: Pressing and holding the pinhole button for over 10 seconds will factory reset your video doorbell and will require a technician to fix your device.
If your Xfinity Video Doorbell isn't hardwired and instead uses a power adapter, you can also unplug the power adapter from the wall outlet, wait 10 seconds and then plug it back in.
