The Xfinity Primary user needs to use their Xfinity ID to create a Max account and password within the Max website or app, and then share this information with other members of the household in order for them to access Max. Secondary Xfinity users can’t sign in to Max using their Xfinity ID and password.

What You'll Need to Create a Max Account and Password
To make a Max account, you'll need:- Xfinity service with Max (formerly HBO | HBO Max) included in your subscription.
- The Xfinity Primary user will need their Xfinity ID and password.
- The Max app downloaded on your device or accessible on a computer or laptop.
- A compatible Flex streaming TV Box with Xfinity Flex service, or a compatible X1 TV Box (RNG150 and Pace XG1v1 aren’t compatible) with Xfinity TV service.
- Xfinity Internet service (any level).
Set Up Your Max Account and Password (Max Mobile App or Website)
If you're the Xfinity Primary user:- Open the Max mobile app or website and choose Sign In.
- Choose Connect Your Provider.
- Select xfinity.
- If you're in-home, you'll be logged in automatically.
Note: If not, you'll be redirected to the Xfinity sign-in page. Enter the Xfinity ID and password of the Primary account holder and click Sign In.
Note: If you try to sign in without having a Max| HBO subscription, you’ll see the following message and have the option to add Max | HBO through your second screen device (mobile device or website).
- If this is the first time you’re signing in to Max, you’ll need to create a Max account. Enter your First Name, Last Name and Email Address and accept the terms and the privacy policy. Click Create Account.
- Select the profile of the household member watching. You can also add profiles for other members of your household.
- You’ve created your Max account and password. You can now share this information with all members of your immediate household, so they can enjoy Max. You can also use it to sign in to Max on additional devices.
