Your chosen name can only contain alphabetical characters (A-Z or a-z) and the following special characters: apostrophe, hyphen, and period. Xfinity reserves the right to reject or remove any chosen name that is vulgar, inappropriate, obscene, profane, discriminatory, or that intends to misrepresent the customer’s identity in a potentially harmful way. For example, by indicating falsely that a person is associated with law enforcement or another government entity.
You can change your name to display as your preferred chosen name and/or pronouns in the Xfinity app or on xfinity.com by following the steps below. Entering a chosen name and/or pronouns is optional. If you don’t want to provide one, we’ll continue to use your legal name.
Changing your name in the app isn’t a legal name change. Change your name on your billing account.
Change your chosen name or pronouns in the Xfinity app
- Tap the Account tab in the bottom right of your screen.
- Tap Account settings.
- Click Xfinity ID and Security.

- Tap Edit name under your name as it currently appears.
- Enter your chosen name in the First, Middle (optional), and Last name fields.
- If you’re adding a chosen first name to your account, you’ll also need to add a chosen last name.
- If you’re adding a chosen first name to your account, you’ll also need to add a chosen last name.
- Tap Save to complete the changes.
Change your chosen pronouns
- Tap Add pronouns under your name as it currently appears.
- Start entering your pronouns in the Search pronouns box and choose from the available list.
- If you don’t want to provide pronouns, you can choose I do not wish to answer.
- If you don’t find the pronouns you’re looking for in the list, you can choose My pronoun is not listed.
- Review your chosen pronouns and tap Save to complete the changes.
- Your pronouns will now appear next to your name.

- Click the person icon in the top-right of your screen to get to your account.
- Click Account and identity.
- Click Xfinity ID and Security.
