A MAC address is a unique identification number associated with network devices. Each device has its own unique address.

If you have an xFi Gateway, you can also find this information for the gateway or for any device that has connected to your home network by using the Xfinity app:
MAC addresses:
- Are 12-digit numbers often written in XX:XX:XX:XX:XX format but are sometimes written without colons.
- Help with communication on the network.
- Provide a way for the Xfinity network to authenticate devices for internet access.
Find the MAC address
The MAC address is usually found on the back or bottom of your gateway. Depending on the model, you may see multiple MAC addresses. If so, the gateway’s MAC address is listed as the RF MAC or the HFC MAC.

If you have an xFi Gateway, you can also find this information for the gateway or for any device that has connected to your home network by using the Xfinity app:
- Sign in to the Xfinity app with your Xfinity ID and password.
- Go to WiFi.
- Tap View WiFi equipment.
- Select your gateway.
- Select Gateway Details.
- You’ll see MAC address listed next to the CM MAC label.
- Go to WiFi.
- Select the device.
- Select Device details.
