How to upgrade
If you'd like to upgrade your Xfinity Flex service to Choice TV Select with Xfinity Flex, you can do so right from your streaming TV Box! Here’s how:
- Just say "Upgrade to Xfinity TV" into your Xfinity Voice Remote, or from the main menu (Home screen) or Shop page, select the Upgrade to Xfinity TV tile at the top of the screen or select the Xfinity Stream app tile.
- Select Get Xfinity TV to see all available X1 offers.
- Select Choice TV, then select Next. This will add the package to your Shopping Cart.
- You can then purchase add-on services, which include Genre Packs like Sports & News, Entertainment, and Kids & Family.
- You can select an unlimited amount of add-ons by highlighting each option and pressing OK (raised button in the center of the directional pad) on your remote.
- Notes:
- If you’ve already subscribed to additional services like Netflix, Max HBO, and/or Showtime, they’ll carry over once you’ve upgraded to Choice TV Select with Xfinity Flex.
- If you want to add new Premium and Subscription Video On Demand services, you can easily add them on-screen after you’ve upgraded to Choice TV Select with Xfinity Flex.
- When completed, select Next.
- Next, you’ll see an Order Summary screen.
- Here you can review your order and order total, including:
- Your current monthly balance.
- What you’re changing your subscription to.
- Your new monthly rate.
- If you’re satisfied and ready to submit your order, choose Submit, or Back if you’d like to make changes to your order.

- Now, you can see your current monthly balance, along with your new monthly rate. If you’re satisfied and ready to submit your order, choose Submit Order. Choose Back to make changes.

- If your order is successful, you’ll see a “Welcome to Xfinity TV!” message confirming your order was submitted. Select Done. A confirmation email will also be sent to the email address of the primary account holder.
- While your order is being processed, you can continue enjoying your current Xfinity Flex service.
- You’ll get a notification on your Xfinity Flex streaming TV Box when your Choice TV Select services are ready.
- Your order may take up to one hour to process.
- Once your account has been updated, select Update to launch Choice TV Select with Xfinity Flex experience!

How to downgrade to Xfinity Flex
Downgrades can only be done online or by contacting us.
Note: Only customers with existing Xfinity Flex stream boxes can downgrade from Choice TV Select to Xfinity Flex. If the customer doesn’t have an existing Xfinity Flex stream box, they will need to downgrade to Xumo Stream Box.
Downgrading online:
- Visit xfinity.com/buy/plan/internet/streamcancel.
- Sign into your Xfinity account.
- Review your plan.
- Your existing Choice TV Select monthly charges will display as Cancelled.
- Your new estimated monthly bill with Xfinity Flex will display.
- Review and check the order acknowledgment box and returning Xfinity equipment box (if applicable).
- Select Submit Order.
- A confirmation page will appear.
FAQs
Will I receive new equipment when I upgrade my service from Xfinity Flex to Choice TV Select with Xfinity Flex?
No — you won’t need to buy or install new equipment. You can enjoy Xfinity TV service right from your current streaming TV Box. Depending on the Voice Remote model you have, you may be sent a new Voice Remote but can continue to use your existing Voice Remote until the new one arrives.
Now that I’ve upgraded to Choice TV Select with Xfinity Flex, where can I watch live TV?
You can access your Xfinity TV package through the Xfinity Stream app on your Flex streaming TV Box.
How many devices can I use to stream video?
Choice TV Select with Xfinity Flex customers can stream to up to two devices at the same time. The limit of two simultaneously streaming devices includes Flex streaming TV Boxes, Partner Devices, mobile devices (e.g., iPads, tablets, phones), and computers.
Is Pay Per View available on Choice TV Select with Xfinity Flex?
No, not at this time.
Is 4K content available on Choice TV Select with Xfinity Flex?
4K content is not available in the Xfinity Stream app on Xfinity Flex. However, the Xfinity Flex streaming TV Box supports 4K UHD streaming and provides access to 4K titles and content. Currently, 4K UHD content can be found using Prime Video, YouTube, Max HBO, and Netflix. You'll need to have a 4K-compatible TV as well as, in some cases (like Netflix), a 4K subscription.
