Global Travel Pass allows you to pay a flat rate for unlimited calls and text messages while abroad in over 170 covered countries. For the first 45 days after activation, you can only make calls to the US, Canada, Mexico, and within any country you are visiting. After this period, you'll be able to call any country worldwide.
Global Travel Pass includes 512 MB of LTE data per pass per day — then data is available at 2G speeds until a new pass is started. The data you use while abroad will count toward your By the Gig or Unlimited data option.

How much does Global Travel Pass cost and how will I be charged?
Global Travel Pass is $10 per day per line in over 170 covered countries or $5 per day per line in Mexico and Canada only.
Once you've added Global Travel Pass to a line and international roaming is enabled, you’ll only be charged when the pass is activated. To start an active travel pass session, just make or receive a call, send a text message, or use data while in a covered country.
On our latest price plan, unlimited calls, texts and data from Mexico and Canada to the United States and are included for all customers with the Unlimited or Unlimited Plus data options. For the best experience using data while visiting Mexico and Canada, you may want to switch to the Unlimited Plus option on our latest price plan before traveling.
How do I add Global Travel Pass to a line?
To add Global Travel Pass to any phone line on your account online:
- Sign in to your Xfinity Mobile account.
- From the Activity page, select the phone line you’d like to add the Global Travel Pass to.
- This will take you to the line details screen.
- Scroll to the Plan Features category, then select Plan your trip in the section labeled International Travel.
- Select Get Global Travel Pass and follow the prompts.
- You’ll see a confirmation screen once you’ve successfully added Global Travel Pass.
- Make sure your device is enabled for data roaming.
- You must do this through your device’s settings.

To add Global Travel Pass to any phone line on your account through the Xfinity app:
- Sign in to the Xfinity app using the Primary user’s Xfinity ID and password.
- Select the Services tab.
- Select the Mobile lines and data usage located within the Mobile services card.
- Select the phone line you’d like to add the Global Travel Pass to.
- This will take you to the line details screen.
- Scroll to the Plan Features category, select Get Global Travel Pass and follow the prompts.
- You’ll see a confirmation screen once you’ve successfully added Global Travel Pass.

If you want to add Global Travel Pass to more than one phone line on your account, you can go back and repeat these steps for each line. Remember, your pass won't be activated until you use your phone abroad while in a covered country.
How does Global Travel Pass work?
- Your Global Travel Pass session will be activated when you make or receive a call, send a text message, or use data while in a covered country.
- Each active session covers a 24-hour period.
- We’ll send you a free text message letting you know that your pass is active.
- About an hour before your active session expires, we’ll send you another free reminder text message.
- A new active session will start automatically if you call, text message, or use data after your current session expires.
What if I didn’t get a Global Travel Pass before travel?
When your device is enabled on an international network, you’ll get a notification saying whether the country is eligible for a Global Travel Pass. If it is, you’ll be prompted to call 1-720-728-5462 toll free to add a pass or get a breakdown of the costs of calls, texts, and data. If the country is not eligible, you’ll just receive a notification breaking down the cost of calls, texts, and data.
Which countries are covered by Global Travel Pass?
Global Travel Pass is currently available in over 170 countries. You’ll automatically be charged pay-as-you-go rates in countries where Global Travel Pass isn’t available.
Are cruise ships or airplanes covered by Global Travel Pass?
No. Global Travel Pass does not cover usage on cruise ships or airplanes, but you can still pay as you go to talk, text message, and use data while aboard. To view rates, go to our international rate search and type in “Cruise Ships” or "Aircraft Service."
What happens if I travel to multiple countries during an active Global Travel Pass session?
You can travel to any other country covered by Global Travel Pass during your 24-hour active session, and you’ll only be charged once. If you travel to a country that isn’t covered by Global Travel Pass during an active session, you’ll be charged the pay-as-you-go rate for that country.
What happens if I remove Global Travel Pass from a line?
Removing Global Travel Pass from a line during an active session will prevent a new pass from starting. You can remove Global Travel Pass at any time to pay as you go for calls, text messages, and data while abroad.
Do I need to remove Global Travel Pass when I return home?
There’s no need to remove Global Travel Pass once you return home, since you’ll only be charged for a pass during an active session when you call, text message, or use data abroad. Global Travel Pass can stay on your line until you’re ready to use it the next time you travel internationally. You can always remove Global Travel Pass at any time through your account online or through our app.
If I’ve used the maximum LTE data allowance for Global Travel Pass, can I get more?
You get 512 MB of LTE data per pass. Once you’ve reached this limit, you’ll have data available for use at 2G speeds until a new pass activates. The data you use while abroad will count toward your By the Gig or Unlimited data option. If you need to use a lot of data while abroad, connecting to WiFi can give you faster speeds.
Can I add Global Travel Pass to my tablet or smartwatch with Xfinity Mobile?
No. At this time, Global Travel Pass can only be added to mobile phone lines.
Will I be charged roaming data charges while connected to WiFi?
Some Apple and Android devices can enable their WiFi Calling feature to make free international calls from anywhere in the world where WiFi is available.
