The Max app is now available to all Xfinity X1, Xumo Stream Box, and Flex customers!
Max is a streaming service that includes iconic series, award-winning movies, fresh originals, and family favorites. Check out your favorite series on HBO, the DC Universe, shows from genres like food, home, reality, travel, adventure, true crime, and more. Whatever mood you're in, Max has something to watch.
To access the Max app on X1, Xumo Stream Box, and Flex, you’ll need:
- A compatible streaming TV Box with Xumo Stream Box, Flex service, or a compatible X1 TV Box (RNG150 and Pace XG1v1 aren’t compatible) with Xfinity TV service.
- Xfinity Internet service (any level).
- A mobile device or computer to enter an activation code at auth.max.com/link.
Find the Max app on X1, Xumo Stream Box, and Flex
To find Max in the X1, Xumo Stream Box, and Flex Apps menus, you can:
- Press the xfinity button on your remote.
- Select Apps.
- Go to Max.
You’ll also see Max TV shows and movies in your search results if you’re browsing on X1, Xumo Stream Box, and Flex, or by using the Voice Remote to say "Max."
Sign up for Max on X1, Xumo Stream Box, and Flex
- Launch the Max app from the Apps menu, and click Subscribe Now.
- When you see a button for each of the two subscription tiers, press the arrow on your remote and then the OK button to select either With Ads for $9.99/month or Ad-Free for $15.99/month.
- You'll be taken to the network page with information about the tier. Choose Subscribe to sign up for that tier.
Sign in to the Max app on X1, Xumo Stream Box, and Flex
- To begin the sign in process, launch the Max app.
- Navigate to the Connect Your Provider option in the middle of the menu using the Right arrow on your Xfinity remote. Then click OK or the center button on the remote to sign in.
- A QR code and a unique activation code will display on screen for single use, as well as instructions for signing in. You can either visit the website or scan the QR code using your mobile device’s camera.
- The fastest and most direct way to connect is to scan the QR code using your mobile device’s camera, choose Xfinity from the list of providers, and sign in using your Xfinity ID and password.
- If you don't want to scan the QR code, you can visit auth.max.com/link on a phone or computer to enter the six-digit unique activation code seen on the screen.
Notes:- If you try to sign in with a Secondary account, you'll see a message that says you must sign in with your Primary Xfinity account.
- If you’re using a mobile device and are asked to download or open the Max app, it means the incorrect web address was entered.
- Carefully type in auth.max.com/link.
- Once entered correctly, it shouldn't prompt you to download the app.
- You’ll have 15 minutes to enter the code, after which time you’ll need to enter a new one.
- After you’ve entered the code, you’ll be directed to a sign in page on your computer or mobile device. If you're subscribed through Xfinity, select Do you get Max or HBO Max through an internet, mobile, or TV provider? at the bottom of the screen.
- If you’re subscribed outside of Xfinity, sign in directly with your email and password.
- If you’re subscribed outside of Xfinity, sign in directly with your email and password.
- Choose Xfinity from the list of providers and then log in with your Xfinity ID and password.
- Notes:
- If you’re connected to your in-home WiFi network, your account will log in automatically.
- If you need to sign in with a different account, you’ll need to sign in to xfinity.com first by entering the Xfinity ID associated to the account of your choice.
- Then, choose Xfinity from the list of the providers.

- If you sign in successfully, you’ll see the following confirmation message.

- If you receive the following message, "Error 500 – Internal Error," visit xfinity.com and log out or try a new browser. Then, restart at step one above.
- HBO must not be locked from Parental Control setting in your account.

- If you're not in-home or signed in to xfinity.com or Xfinity apps, you may be redirected to the Xfinity sign in page. Sign in with your Primary Xfinity account credentials.
- Notes:
- After signing in to your account, you’ll need to set up an Max account if you haven’t already. If you have already set up an account, you'll go directly to the next step.
- Once you’ve created your Max account, you’re all done! Return to your TV to enjoy Max on X1, Xumo Stream Box, or Flex.
Sign out of Max
- Press the left arrow button while on the main screen. The sidebar menu will appear.
- Select Settings (gear icon) located in the bottom left of your screen.
- Scroll to the right and select Sign Out (under Signed in as). Press OK on the remote.
- You'll be taken back to the main page to Connect Your Provider to sign in.
