Follow the steps below to troubleshoot this error.
- Sign in to xfinity.com using your primary Xfinity ID information.
- Go to customer.xfinity.com/#/settings/parental-controls, and in the Network Sites and Apps section, click Manage Settings.
- Unlock the HBO channel if it appears to be locked.
- Click Save.
- On your TV's error message screen, select Connect Your Provider using your remote.
- You should see a QR code and a six-character code.
- Scan the QR code or open a browser window on your mobile device or computer in the address bar, type https://max.com/providers.
- You should see an Enter Code page.
- Enter the six-character code that appears on your TV and click Continue.
- From the list of providers, pick Xfinity and you'll be automatically signed in to your Xfinity account.
- The six-character code on your TV should dismiss.
- The six-character code on your TV should dismiss.
