Getting Started kit expectations
If you’ve ordered a Getting Started kit, we’ll send the equipment directly to your home! Based on your selected shipping preference, it can take up to five days for standard shipping and one to two days for expedited shipping (excludes Sunday).

Getting Started kit eligibility
Are you (or someone in your home) comfortable connecting a gaming system or a smart home device ? If so, you probably have the technical skill necessary to install and activate Xfinity service with a Getting Started kit. But there are a couple of requirements we want you to know before ordering your Getting Started kit.
- You must be a current Xfinity customer, or your address must have had Xfinity service in the past.
- Cable and electrical outlets must already be located and working where you want the service in your home.
- If you want to add additional outlets in your home, Getting Started kits won’t work — you need a technician to help you with that.
- You must be installing fewer than four devices for the best self-installation experience.
If you're looking to get a new home phone service, or if you want to switch your landline service, choose Xfinity Voice and a Getting Started kit to get talking.

Home drop-off services
For new Xfinity customers, we offer contactless home drop-off services in place of a professional installation. The technician leaves the appropriate self-installation guide and equipment at your doorstep. We’ll perform all necessary outside work and follow-up with you to ensure your service is connected and working properly.
In addition to the activation instructions, you'll also have access to videos, FAQs, and troubleshooting support, all available at xfinity.com/support/self-install, to help you during your installation.
