Helping customers get rid of used electronics responsibly is part of Xfinity’s commitment to the environment. We collect used mobile phones from customers wherever we sell new phones, and we also offer a mail-back program for used mobile phones.
In most states, many types of used electronics can be dropped off at various collection points for reuse or recycling free of charge or at low cost. Xfinity encourages you to take advantage of these programs, both to help the environment and because disposing of electronics in household trash is forbidden in many locations.
Below is information about electronics recycling opportunities in certain states. For other locations, we encourage you to contact your state or local environmental agency.
For information about Xfinity devices identified as end of life (EOL), see why it's important to upgrade EOL and unsupported equipment.
What to do
Before recycling a still operational mobile phone, make sure to complete a factory reset to ensure your data has been erased from the device. You agree that you’re solely responsible for removing all data, including personal and/or confidential information, sensitive files, or other content (e.g., contacts, photos, and text messages) from the mobile phone prior to sending it in for recycle, reuse, or repair. Neither Xfinity nor its vendors or suppliers accepts any responsibility or liability for any damages you may suffer if personal information, data, or content left on your mobile phone is lost, accessed, or acquired.
Your local Xfinity Retail Store
Find a local Xfinity Retail Store near you and drop off your mobile phone(s). We’ll make sure it’s recycled in an environmentally sound manner.
