How do I change my data option?

If you want to change your data option, it's no problem. You have the flexibility to switch between Xfinity Mobile data options online or in our app, and we've got great choices.

Choose Unlimited for the most data

Here's how to switch from By the Gig to Unlimited using your Xfinity Mobile account online:

1. Go to Activity > My Data.
2. Select a line.
3. Scroll to Data Options and select Switch to Unlimited.
4. Select Continue.
5. Select Switch Now.
   
   

Here's how to switch from By the Gig to Unlimited using the Xfinity app.

1. Sign in to the Xfinity app using the Primary user’s Xfinity ID and password.
2. Select the Services tab.
3. Select the Mobile lines and data usage located within the Mobile services card.
4. Select a line.
5. Scroll to Data Management, select Switch to Unlimited, and follow the prompts to upgrade your service.
   
   • You may be required to sign in again.
     
     

The switch will take effect right away — it's that easy! You'll be charged one price for all the data used by that line at the end of the month, based on which unlimited data option you choose. The more lines you have, the less you'll pay per line per month.

To get multi-line Unlimited pricing, you’ll need to be on our latest plan. Upgrade your plan by heading to My Account online or the Xfinity app.

Choose By the Gig for sharing

Here's how to switch from Unlimited to By the Gig using your Xfinity Mobile account online if others on your account already have By the Gig:

1. Go to Activity > My Data.
2. Select a line.
3. Scroll to Data Options and select By the Gig.
4. Select Continue.
5. Select Switch Now.
6. You'll join the existing data amount.
   
   

Here's how to switch from Unlimited to By the Gig using the Xfinity app:

1. Sign in to the Xfinity app using the Primary user’s Xfinity ID and password.
2. Select the Services tab.
3. Select the Mobile lines and data usage located within the Mobile services card.
4. Select a line.
5. Scroll to Data Management, select Switch to By the Gig, and follow the prompts to switch your service.
   
   • You may be required to sign in again.

Mix and match data options

Data can get pretty personal. While some people on your account might devour data and be great candidates for Unlimited, others might rather go with By the Gig. With shared and Unlimited data options, you can mix and match your settings to best suit everyone's needs.
