FAQs
How it works
What is the Xfinity Mobile trial?
It’s a free trial that allows you to try the Xfinity Mobile network free for 30 days, using your current phone. No switching or payment is needed.

How does the Xfinity Mobile trial work?
Find out if you’re eligible for the trial and have a compatible device (unlocked, eSIM capable). After sign-up, Xfinity will provide you with an eSIM to install on your phone to deliver free data while you continue to use your current carrier and number for calls and texts. Experience the network and see how it works for you where you need it. Switch to Xfinity Mobile, anytime.
How much does it cost?
The trial is free to join — no contracts, commitments, or credit checks.

Data and WiFi hotspots
How much data can I use?
The trial includes 50 GB of high-speed data and 15 GB of hotspot access for 30 days. Experience up to Gig speeds on millions of WiFi hotspots.
How do hotspots work and where can I find them?
Xfinity has over 23 million of WiFi hotspots nationwide. Devices on the trial (running the minimum supported operating system version) will automatically connect to Xfinity WiFi hotspots and experience up to Gig speeds.
To find the nearest hotspot, check the hotspot location map in the Xfinity app (on the WiFi tab) or on the map online.
Why is my data slow?
Depending on your coverage and availability, you may experience slower speeds due to network congestion which commonly causes slower cellular data speeds. If you’ve used all your data, you’ll still get unlimited data but may notice some lag time.
In the meantime, Xfinity recommends connecting to WiFi whenever available.
I’ve reached my data cap but the trial hasn’t ended.
If you’ve exceeded the data usage threshold for the trial, you’ve still got unlimited data but will experience slower speeds (5 Mbps download/2 Mbps upload). To continue enjoying the network, switch to Xfinity Mobile anytime.
If you’d like to switch back to using data from your wireless carrier, you can delete your network trial eSIM. Refer to the How do I delete the eSIM after my trial is over FAQ below.
Will I get data when traveling internationally during the trial?
The trial is not for international use. If you’re planning to travel outside the country, refer to your existing carrier’s international roaming policy and/or plans.
To switch back to using data from your wireless carrier, go to your device’s Settings and select your current carrier service as the preferred plan for cellular data.
