Sign up for NOW Mobile
NOW Mobile is available by ordering through the NOW Portal, by chatting with NOW Customer Support, or visiting an Xfinity Retail Store.
When signing up for NOW Mobile, you may need to provide proof of identification. We accept the following forms of photo ID:
- Driver's license (U.S., Mexican, or Canadian)
- Valid state-issued ID (U.S. only)
- Marticula Consular (Mexico)
- Passport book — Eligible countries include:

Eligibility
For NOW Mobile service, you'll need to:
- Have a subscription to Xfinity Internet or NOW Internet.
- You can sign up for both NOW Internet and NOW Mobile through the NOW Portal. Learn more about the NOW Portal.
- Be located within the Xfinity footprint.
Note: Xfinity Prepaid customers are eligible for NOW Mobile.
NOW Mobile is not available for:
- Customers who subscribe to Xfinity Mobile (you cannot have a subscription to NOW Mobile and Xfinity Mobile at the same time).
- Note: Current Xfinity Mobile customers can downgrade their service to NOW Mobile at any time (eligibility restrictions apply).
- Some bulk (or multifamily) property customers, like Managed WiFi, Xfinity Connected Building and Xfinity On Campus.
- Note: If you live in an Xfinity Wifi Ready or Traditional Bulk (Upgradeable Bulk) property, you can sign up for NOW Mobile.

Activate NOW Mobile
Use the Xfinity app to activate your NOW Mobile service, as well as view your plan, device, and billing information.
If you’re a new NOW Mobile customer, here’s how to activate your service:
Xfinity app activation: New number
Follow the steps below if you’re activating a new number for NOW Mobile service:
- Open the Xfinity app on your device following the Xfinity activation notification on your home screen. Tap Start activation.
- You’ll be asked if you’d like to keep your current phone number.
- Your number will remain connected to the current device until this step is complete.
- Tap the circle next to Get a new number, then tap Next.
- Wait while we find your new number.
- This could take a few minutes — don’t leave the Xfinity app until we tell you your new NOW Mobile number or you may need to start over.
- Tap Continue once finished.
- Once your new number appears on your device, you can activate the eSIM to give your device access to your NOW Mobile service. Tap Continue.

- To install NOW Mobile on the device you’re activating, you’ll need to:
- Connect your device to WiFi, then wait to receive a push notification.
- Follow the on-screen steps until you land on the Cellular Settings screen on your device.
- After a few minutes, Xfinity Mobile should be listed as the carrier.
- Once finished, tap I finished on the other device.
- Note:
- If you didn’t receive the push notification on your device, tap Didn’t receive a push notification?
- If you’re having trouble with installing the eSIM, tap I’m having trouble with this.
- Note:
- Your device is now being activated. This could take a few minutes. Don’t leave the app or you may need to start over.
- Your device is now fully activated and ready to be used!
- To learn more about transferring data to your new device, tap How to transfer data to this device.
- To learn more about your new device, tap Explore activated device details.
- If you have another device you’d like to activate, tap Activate another device.
Xfinity app activation: Existing number
Follow the steps below if you want to transfer or “port” your existing number for NOW Mobile service:
- Open the Xfinity app on your device following the Xfinity activation notification on your home screen. Tap Start activation.
- You’ll be asked if you’d like to keep your current phone number.
- Your number will remain connected to your current device until this step is complete and you see the message telling you your number has been transferred to NOW Mobile.
- Tap the circle next to Keep and transfer current number, then tap Next.
- Next, we’ll need to verify some account information. Enter the name and mobile information of the primary account holder.
- You’ll need to enter both the Account Number and Number Transfer PIN for the next step. Make sure you have them both handy.
- Account Number: To find the Account Number associated with your current carrier, look on the upper-right corner of your bill or online account.
- It will be 14 digits long.
- Enter the number without dashes.
- Number Transfer PIN: To get your Number Transfer PIN, you’ll first need to ensure that Number Lock is turned off on your current device by dialing *611.
- Then, dial #PORT to receive your Number Transfer PIN.
- If you’d like to exit the activation process, tap Exit and return later.
- Account Number: To find the Account Number associated with your current carrier, look on the upper-right corner of your bill or online account.
- Once you’ve entered your account information your number will begin to transfer to NOW Mobile.
If you’d like to exit the Xfinity app, tap Keep transferring and exit. - Your number has been successfully transferred to NOW Mobile. You can now proceed with device activation.
- First, let’s install the eSIM to give your device access to the cellular plan. Tap Continue.
- If you’d like to learn more about the eSIM before continuing, tap What’s an eSIM?
- You’ll need to install the cellular plan on the device you’re activating.
- Make sure your device is connected to WiFi, then wait to receive a push notification.
- Follow the on-screen steps until you land on the Cellular Settings screen on your device.
- After a few minutes, XFINITY MOBILE should be listed as the carrier.
- Once finished, tap I finished on the other device.
- If you didn’t receive the push notification on your device, tap Didn’t receive a push notification?
- If you’re having trouble with installing the eSIM, tap I’m having trouble with this.
- Your device is now being activated. This could take a few minutes. Please don’t leave the app or you may need to start over.
- Your device is now fully activated and ready to be used!
- To learn more about transferring data to your new device, tap How to transfer data to this device.
- To learn more about your new device, tap Explore activated device details.
- If you have another device you’d like to activate, tap Activate another device.
Bring your own device (BYOD)
If you’re bringing your own device for NOW Mobile service, you’ll need to make sure the device is unlocked. Check with your current carrier to see if your device needs to be unlocked.
You may see the below error message within the activation flow if the device is still locked:
