This article provides instructions on pairing an X1 Wireless TV Box (Xi5 or Xi6) or Flex streaming TV Box (Xi5, Xi6 or XiOne) to your Xfinity in-home network.
Note: You can also connect your X1 Wireless TV Box to your xFi Gateway with RDK-B via an Ethernet cable, in which case these pairing steps will not be necessary.
Pair an X1 Wireless TV Box
Power on the TV Box. The boot screen displays while the TV Box powers up.
While the Welcome screen is displayed, the TV Box is connecting to Cloud services that include the activation application.
In some areas, the X1 or Flex Wireless TV Box may automatically find and connect to your Xfinity in-home network without the need to enter any network information.
If this option is not available, you'll be presented with the WiFi setup screen below. If you don’t see your home WiFi network available, you can select “Join another network” or try to connect using WiFi Protected Setup (WPS).
Connect by selecting your home network.
Enter your home network's password.
Connect using WPS
If you choose Initiate Pairing, you'll have two minutes to press the WPS key on your xFi Gateway to complete the pairing process.
Note: The WPS button on the xFi Advanced Gateway (XB7/XB8) is located on the rear of the device. The top status light will blink when the WPS button is pressed.
