What is PowerBoost?
You can now get faster mobile speeds (up to 1 GB) on your Xfinity Mobile device when connected to our public WiFi hotspots and at home.
Note: This is an exclusive benefit for Xfinity Mobile customers.

Many factors affect speed, including distance from hotspot, congestion, personal device capabilities, equipment performance, interference, and speeds of visited websites.
How do I qualify to receive PowerBoost?
Qualifications to receive PowerBoost:
- Xfinity Mobile WiFi:
- You must be an Xfinity Mobile line holder with a mobile device.
- Your Xfinity Mobile device must be connected to the “Xfinity Mobile” public WiFi network.
- On your personal home WiFi:
- You must have an xFi Advanced Gateway (XB8) with less than a 1 GB speed tier to receive speed boost at home.
- If you have a faster internet tier more than 1 GB, your mobile devices are already up to and over 1 GB WiFi speed
- You must have an eligible device:
- iPhone 12 or greater, with iOS 18 or later.
- Samsung Galaxy S24 devices
- Samsung Galaxy S23 devices
- Samsung Galaxy S22 devices
- Samsung Galaxy S21 devices
- Samsung Z Fold6 and Z Flip6

I ran a speed test and I’m not getting 1 GB. Is my device receiving PowerBoost?
Faster WiFi speeds enable higher speeds up to 1 GB. There are many variables that can affect your WiFi speeds, such as your proximity to the WiFi gateway, the number of devices currently using the hotspot, and if there is any obstruction or interference of the WiFi signal between you and the WiFi gateway.
Do my Xfinity Mobile tablets get this benefit?
Yes, Xfinity Mobile tablet devices receive PowerBoost when connected to “Xfinity Mobile” hotspots.
Note: Tablets aren’t boosted on in-home networks.
Will I receive PowerBoost when I go to another Xfinity customer’s house?
Yes, if the home has an xFi Advanced Gateway (XB8), you’ll get faster WiFi speeds when you connect to the home WiFi network. This benefit is exclusively for Xfinity Mobile customers and works across all Xfinity-powered WiFi.
Is this benefit for all customers?
Yes, this product perk is available for new and existing Xfinity Mobile customers that meet the requirements described above.
Will my device receive PowerBoost if I’m connected to another network that’s not Xfinity?
No. To receive PowerBoost, your device must be connected to one of our millions of new “Xfinity Mobile” hotspots or a private home WiFi network with an xFi Advanced Gateway (XB8).
