Learn how to use the Xfinity app or Xfinity Home app to restart your Camera or Video Doorbell.
Restarting your camera or video doorbell from the Xfinity app
- Sign in to the Xfinity app.
- Select the Security tab.
- Scroll down to the desired camera or video doorbell and select the camera thumbnail.
- Select the gear icon at the upper right.
- Select Restart Camera.
- Select Restart now.
- The camera will start rebooting. Select Okay to return to the previous screen.
- If there's a problem, you can manually reboot.
- For a camera using a power adapter, just unplug the camera from the power outlet, wait 10 seconds and then plug it back in.
- The camera will reboot, which takes about three minutes total.
- For a video doorbell that’s hardwired, reset it by removing the trim plate and inserting a non-metallic pointed object (such as a toothpick) into the reset pin hole, then gently pressing the button and immediately releasing.
- Remember to put the trim plate back on the video doorbell.
Note: Pressing and holding the pinhole button for over 10 seconds will factory reset your video doorbell and will require a technician to fix your device.

- If your Xfinity Video Doorbell is not hardwired and instead uses a power adapter, you can also unplug the power adapter from the wall outlet. Wait 10 seconds and then plug it back in.
- For a camera using a power adapter, just unplug the camera from the power outlet, wait 10 seconds and then plug it back in.
- If there's a problem, you can manually reboot.

Restarting your camera from the Xfinity Home app
- Sign in to the Xfinity Home app.
- Scroll down to the desired camera and select the camera thumbnail.
- Select the More Options three dot icon (•••) at the upper right.
- Select Reboot Camera.
- Select Reboot.
- The camera will start rebooting. Select Okay to return to the previous screen.
Note: If there's a problem, you can manually restart. Just unplug the camera from the power outlet, wait 10 seconds and then plug it back in. The camera will restart, which takes about three minutes total.
