There may be times when you want your device to stop auto-connecting to available Xfinity WiFi hotspots. You can always disable auto-connect, so you can choose between connecting to WiFi networks and using your cellular data.
Turn off auto-connect on Android phones
Here's how to stop your Samsung phone from auto-connecting to Xfinity WiFi hotspots:
- Go to Settings > Connections > WiFi > XFINITY > Settings > Auto Connect.
- Set Auto Connect to off.
The same steps can be performed for other WiFi networks.
Here's how to stop your Google Pixel phone from auto-connecting to Xfinity WiFi hotspots:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Internet > XFINITY > Auto-connect.
- Set Auto Connect to off.
Follow the same steps for the “xfinity” network ID.
Here's how to stop your Motorola phone from auto-connecting to Xfinity WiFi hotspots:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > WiFi > XFINITY > Settings > Advanced > Auto Connect.
- Set Auto Connect to off.
Follow the same steps for the “xfinity” network ID.
This functionality is not supported for LG phones.
Turn off auto-connect on iPhone or iPad
To stop auto-connecting to Xfinity WiFi hotspots, you'll need to turn off auto-join. Here's how:
- Go to Settings > WiFi.
- Click the “i” icons next to the XFINITY and xfinitywifi networks.
- Toggle off auto-join.
This will disable your device from auto-connecting to Xfinity WiFi hotspots. To re-enable this feature, simply click on xfinitywifi when you're in range.
