Xfinity Mobile eligibility
To upgrade your service from NOW Mobile to Xfinity Mobile, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- You must live within the Comcast footprint (please note that once you purchase Xfinity Mobile, your Xfinity Mobile service will works outside of the Comcast footprint*).
- You must be the account holder on the account.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must verify yourhave a Social Security number and date of birth.
- You must pass a credit screening.
- If you’re a current NOW Mobile customer, you’re still eligible to upgrade to Xfinity Mobile services even if:
- Automatic payments are turned off.
- NOW Mobile service is paused and within the 60-day allowable suspension period on any or all lines.
- If you subscribe to Internet Essentials or are part of the Internet Essentials Partnership Program (IEPP), you qualify for Xfinity Mobile if you meet other eligibility criteria.

- If you’re a NOW Mobile-only customer (e.g., you don’t have an active internet subscription), you must wait 180 days from date of activation to be able to upgrade your service to Xfinity Mobile.
- If your current NOW Internet service is paused, you’re considered a mobile-only customer until internet service is resumed.
- There is no waiting period if you have active or pending Xfinity Internet or NOW Internet services.
*Select areas may be unsupported by Xfinity Mobile's network partner.
Note: Current NOW Mobile customers must move all eligible lines to Xfinity Mobile and can’t mix and match NOW Mobile and Xfinity Mobile services.
Upgrade from NOW Mobile to Xfinity Mobile
To upgrade your NOW Mobile service to Xfinity Mobile:
- Sign in to your NOW portal.
- On the NOW Mobile page, under the Switch to Xfinity Mobile banner, select Learn more.
- You’ll see a pop-up confirming you’d like to transfer service from NOW Mobile to Xfinity Mobile. This will require a soft credit check. Select Continue to switch.
- You’ll find more information about Xfinity Mobile’s Unlimited plan. To proceed with the upgrade, we’ll need to confirm your eligibility and billing details next. Select Next.

- Note: Once you upgrade to Xfinity Mobile, you’ll join Xfinity Mobile’s Unlimited data plan. You can switch data plans any time after upgrading.

- To verify your identity, enter your date of birth and Social Security number. Then, select Verify your identity.
- To ensure you’re all set to make payments, we’ll need to run a soft credit check on your account. Select Check my credit to proceed.

- Note: If all your lines aren’t eligible for Xfinity Mobile, you may see an error message after this screen.

- Enter your preferred payment method (note you can only make Xfinity Mobile payments using a debit or credit card). Then, select Submit.
- Review your order, including your order summary, plan details, and terms of service. Once finished, select Submit.
- You’ll see a confirmation page confirming your new subscription to Xfinity Mobile.
