Follow the steps below to set up voicemail alerts by email ("Voicemail Transcription") in the Voice preferences section of the Xfinity Voice website.
Voicemail Transcription converts your voicemail to text using automated speech recognition, then emails you a transcript and an MP3 of your voicemail (if requested). This feature is particularly helpful for those customers who may be deaf, hard of hearing or have a hearing disability.
Typical voicemails are transcribed and sent to you in under a minute. For very long messages or in areas with poor network coverage, it may take a bit longer. The maximum length of a readable voicemail transcription is three minutes.
Note: If the caller doesn't leave a voicemail or no discernible voice can be recognized, the transcription will be blank. The accuracy of Xfinity Voice transcriptions may also be affected by background noise, multiple speakers, call quality, accented speech and unfamiliar words or slang.
