The battery life is approximately two to three years.
What type of batteries does my Wireless Keypad use?
- Centralite Wireless Keypad: Two CR123A batteries
- SMC Wireless Keypad: Two CR2 3-volt batteries
- TCH or UEI Wireless Keypad: Four non-rechargeable AA lithium batteries
When my low-battery light turns on, how much time do I have before I need to replace the batteries?
From the day the Battery Indicator light turns on, you have approximately 60 days to replace the batteries before the batteries die and the device stops functioning. Learn how to replace the batteries in your devices.
Can I move the Wireless Keypad around my home?
We do not recommend moving the Wireless Keypad from its original installation location, as moving the device could cause it to malfunction.
How do I change the volume on my Centralite, TCH or UEI Keypad?
The Keypad will beep as you raise or lower the volume level, signaling that the volume has changed.
- To increase the volume, press and hold the 2 button.
- To decrease the volume, press and hold the 5 button.
How do I turn the Door Chime on my TCH or UEI Keypad on or off?
The Door Chime signals when a door with a Sensor is opened or closed.
- Press and hold the 8 button until you get a confirmation beep (~2 seconds) to toggle the chime on or off. You can verify that the chime is enabled/disabled by opening and closing a Sensor-equipped door.
Why is my Centralite, TCH or UEI Keypad making beeping noises?
The device makes beeping noises when arming and will beep faster as your security system gets closer to its armed state. Beeping will stop when the system is armed.
Why won't my Centralite Keypad light up?
Check the proximity sensors by waving your hand in front of the device. If that doesn't work, press and hold the A button to recalibrate the proximity sensor. If the keypad still doesn't work, replace the batteries or contact us. Learn how to replace the batteries in your devices.
Where is the Panic button?
The Centralite, TCH and UEI Keypads do not have a Panic button.
What do the A and B buttons do on the Centralite, TCH, or UEI Keypad?
Currently, the A and B button are non-functional.
