FAQs
X1 Cloud DVR allows you to stream live TV, On Demand content and in-progress DVR recordings from the cloud to your mobile phone or computer while you're at home. Completed DVR recordings can be streamed and downloaded to your phone through any mobile or WiFi network via the Xfinity Stream app, or streamed via the Xfinity Stream portal (xfinity.com/stream).
Can I have multiple devices streaming DVR recordings at once?
Yes, you can have up to five devices streaming at the same time.
Note: Live TV streaming, DVR streaming and active DVR downloads all contribute to the five-device streaming limit.
What channels are available for recording with the X1 Cloud DVR?
All linear channels on your lineup are included except for Pay Per View, Music Choice and adult channels.
Note: Pay Per View and adult programs can still be recorded, but they'll only be available on the TV Box for playback.
Can I stream an in-progress or completed recording to my mobile phone or computer while in my home?
Yes, you can stream an in-progress recording while connected to your in-home Xfinity network. Within a few seconds of the recording start time, the portion of the program that's been recorded will be available for playback.
Can multiple devices play back the same recording at the same time?
Yes, multiple devices can play back a recording at the same time. You can have up to four TV sets simultaneously playing the same recording and up to five additional devices (mobile phones or computers) playing the recording at the same time.
What happens if playback of a recording ends due to a time-out or the background of an application?
The system will automatically set a resume point within two minutes of the point where your playback ended.
Can I see a list of recordings for a specific device?
Yes, you can filter recordings by device.
Can I fast-forward and rewind through a DVR recording when using the Xfinity Stream app or the Xfinity Stream portal?
Yes. With the Xfinity Stream app or the Xfinity Stream portal, you can quickly get to the point of a show you want to watch with fast-forward and rewind.
Can I stream an in-progress or completed recording to my device while I'm out of my home?
In-progress DVR recordings can't be streamed outside of your home, but completed recordings can be streamed to your mobile phone via the Xfinity Stream app or Xfinity Stream portal (xfinity.com/stream) anywhere, anytime.
