Learn how to easily find shows and movies that have audio description - a secondary audio program that provides narration to assist our customers who are blind or have low vision or a visual disability.
Note: This audio description search feature is currently in Beta.
Find programs that have audio description using the Xfinity Voice Remote
Note: If you are blind or have low vision or a visual disability, you may want to turn on Voice Guidance, the X1 Talking Guide that helps you navigate the on-screen menus.
- Hold the Voice Control key (microphone icon on your Xfinity Voice Remote) and say "described shows" or "described movies."
- You can also visit the Accessibility Home Screen to find the Audio Description collection.
- On the Audio Description page, you'll find a few rows with different ways to explore content with audio description:
- Featured Content like popular movies and shows.
- Described Video airing now.
- Described movies and specials On Demand or Netflix.
- Described TV series On Demand or Netflix.
- Use the left/right arrow keys on your Xfinity Voice Remote to explore the items in each row. Use the up/down arrow keys to move between rows. Press OK to make a selection.
Once you find something to watch, turn on audio description.
Helpful tips
- To more easily explore each row, press the left arrow to select the View All Titles tile at the left end of the row and then press OK. This will show all available titles in a grid view. You can then press the Page Up and Page Down keys to more quickly explore the available items.
- Note: Some episodes of a TV series in the collection may have a description, while others may not. Check the program information to confirm that audio description is available on the episode or version you've selected.
