Channel Locks allow you to lock access to specific individual channels. Channels which are locked are still viewable in the Xfinity X1 On-Screen Guide. This article provides details on how to set up and manage Parental Control Channel Locks with X1.

Locking and Unlocking Channels
Lock a Channel- Press the xfinity button on your remote control.
- Press Guide.
- Use the up arrow and down arrow buttons to scroll to the channel you wish to lock.
- Press the left arrow button once to highlight the logo and channel number of the channel you wish to lock. Press the OK button.
Note: If your remote does not have an OK button, press the raised button in the center of the directional pad. - Using the right arrow button, highlight Lock. Press the OK button.
- If you have already set up a Parental Controls PIN, you will be prompted to enter your four-digit Locks PIN using the number pad on your remote control before you can continue.
- Enter the Locks PIN a second time to confirm the channel lock.
- The channel is now locked.
- Press the Guide button on your remote control.
- Use the up arrow and down arrow buttons to scroll to the channel you wish to unlock.
- Press the left arrow button once to highlight the logo and channel number of the channel you wish to unlock. Press the OK button.
- Using the right arrow button, highlight Unlock. Press the OK button.
- A prompt will require you to enter the four-digit Locks PIN using the number pad on your remote control before you can continue.
- The channel is now unlocked.
- Press the xfinity button on your remote control.
- Use the arrow buttons to highlight the Settings (gear icon) and press OK.
- Use the arrow buttons to highlight Parental Controls and press OK.
- If you have already set up a Parental Controls PIN, you will be prompted to enter your four-digit Locks PIN using the number pad on your remote control before you can continue.
- Use the arrow buttons to highlight Channel Locks. Press the OK button.
- Use the up/down arrow buttons to scroll through list of locked channels.
- Press OK button to turn lock on/off on individual channel. The blue locked icon denotes a locked channel, the light grey unlocked icon denotes an unlocked channel.
