If you've received your Xfinity X1 equipment as part of a Getting Started kit, it's important that you install and activate your devices in the correct order. Learn how to correctly follow the X1 Getting Started kit installation sequence.
X1 Getting Started kit Installation Sequence
- Wireless Gateway
- If you've received a wireless gateway, it should be installed and activated first.
- If you already have a wireless gateway in your home, or you have ordered video services only, you can begin with connecting your video equipment.
- Primary TV Box
- If you've received one or more X1 TV Boxes, connect your primary TV Box before connecting the others (you'll find a TV Box labeled as the primary TV Box will be included in your Getting Started kit).
- If you already have Xfinity X1 in your home and are simply ordering additional video TV Boxes, you can move straight to connecting and activating them at this time.
- Additional TV Boxes
- Additional video devices should only be connected and activated after your wireless gateway (if part of your service) and primary X1 TV Boxes have been connected and successfully activated.
