What is Xumo Stream Box?
Xumo Stream Box is the newest streaming device for new Xfinity Internet customers. With Xumo Stream Box, you can quickly and seamlessly connect to live TV and your favorite apps, create profiles, enjoy personalized entertainment and one-stop search with our new XR100 Remote with Voice capability.
How do I get Xumo Stream Box?
The easiest way to get Xumo Stream Box is by visiting xfinity.com/xumo and choosing Get Xumo. You can also order Xumo Stream Box by contacting us, or by visiting an Xfinity Retail Store.
Which remotes work with Xumo Stream Box?
Xumo Stream Box works with our new XR100 Remote, which includes our award-winning Voice capability.
What can I expect after I order Xumo Stream Box?
You should get your Xumo Stream Box within three-to-five business days. Just follow the instructions in the Getting Started kit, and you'll be up and running in no time. You'll need the phone number associated with your Xfinity account, so have that handy.

How much does Xumo Stream Box cost?
Xumo Stream Box service comes with a one-time $15 Xumo Activation Fee (plus tax) for new customers. Xumo Stream Box is owned by Xumo and leased to you month-to-month. The first Xumo Stream Box is included with your Xfinity Internet service. Each additional Xumo Stream Box is currently $5 per month.
When do I pay the activation fee?
The $15 one-time Xumo Activation Fee for new customers will be included in the Add Ons section of your first Xfinity bill after signing up.
I have a Roku/Fire TV/Smart TV. Why should I get Xumo Stream Box?
Xumo Stream Box comes pre-loaded with the Xfinity Stream app so you can start streaming in minutes. You’ll also be able to enjoy access to your other favorite streaming apps, search using the Voice Remote, experience new features such as personal profiles, improved TV guides, and more. Plus, enjoy 300+ free channels with the Xumo Play app.
I have Xumo Stream Box. How do I upgrade to NOW TV?
You can upgrade to NOW TV right from your Xumo Stream Box! See Upgrade to or cancel NOW TV from your Xumo Stream Box or Flex box for details.
I have Xumo Stream Box. How do I upgrade to Xfinity TV?
You can upgrade to Xfinity TV through your online account, by contacting us, or by visiting an Xfinity Retail Store.
Note: You will need to swap your Xumo Stream Box for a TV Box to upgrade to Xfinity TV.
I am an X1 customer, and I want Xumo Stream Box for a spare room. How do I get an extra streaming box?
Xumo Stream Box won't work in your home if you already have X1. You can order additional X1 boxes through your existing X1 box or by contacting us.
How do I cancel my Xumo Stream Box ?
You can cancel any time through your Xumo Stream Box, online account, by contacting us, or visiting an Xfinity Retail Store to return your Xumo equipment.
How do I return my Xumo Stream Box?
Go to xfinity.com/returns, and you’ll see a list of all the Xfinity equipment on your account.
Select your Xumo Stream Box, and then you’ll be given two return options:
- Print a free UPS return label, then pack it in the original shipping box (if you still have it) and ship it to us.
- Bring it to a local Xfinity Retail Store, where it will be taken off your account immediately.
If I cancel my Xumo Stream Box, will I lose my Xfinity Internet service?
No, canceling your Xumo Stream Box does not impact your Xfinity Internet service. You will be required to return your Xumo Stream Box.
If I cancel my Xumo Stream Box, will I get my $15 activation fee returned?
If you cancel your Xumo Stream Box within the first 30 days of subscription, you'll be credited the $15 activation fee back to your account as part of our Xfinity Customer Commitment.
If you cancel Xumo Stream Box more than 30 days after signup, you won't receive a refund of the activation fee.
Set up and use Xumo Stream Box
How do I set up my Xumo Stream Box?
Before you begin, make sure your Xfinity Internet is active. Secure the HDMI cable between your TV and the Xumo Stream Box. Plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet and connect it to your Xumo Stream Box, then follow the on-screen prompts to activate.

Do I need an Xfinity xFi Gateway to get Xumo Stream Box or can I use my own modem?
We recommend using an xFi Gateway to use Xfinity features right on your TV, but you can choose to use your own modem instead. If you choose to buy your own equipment, use My Device Info to easily check if your device is approved for Xfinity Internet.
Can I use the Xfinity Stream app as a Xumo Stream Box customer?
Yes, Xumo Stream Box includes the Xfinity Stream app so you can start watching in minutes. You can also watch the Xfinity Stream app online at xfinity.com/stream and on your mobile devices (Apple and Android).
Can I use DVR?
No, currently Xumo Stream Box does not offer DVR capability. However, if you’re a NOW TV customer with Xumo Stream Box, you can view DVR content through the Xfinity Stream app on your streaming box.

What content is available on Xumo Stream Box?
With Xumo Stream Box, you can enjoy:
- All the top apps including Peacock, Xfinity Stream, Netflix, Max, and more.
- 300+ free streaming channels with Xumo Play. See the full list of channels available on the Xumo Play app.
To see the free channels available to you, you can also click on the Guide button from the home screen of your Xumo Stream Box, then click Free to Me, then All Channels.
Can I watch live TV?
Broadcast TV (e.g., NBC, CBS, ABC, and FOX) and cable networks (e.g., CNN, ESPN, and HGTV) are not included with the Xumo Stream Box. However, you can watch live TV through a separate streaming service like YouTube TV, Hulu Live TV, Sling TV Orange and Blue, and Paramount+.
For all other linear services, you’ll need to subscribe to Xfinity TV service to watch live broadcast and cable TV channels.
What On Demand content is available on Xumo Stream Box?
You'll be able to pay for rentals and purchases from the full Xfinity On Demand library through Xumo Stream Box. You’ll also have access to all of the free content that internet-only customers are able to watch.
Can I fast forward, rewind and pause live tv with Choice TV on Xumo Stream Box?
No, Choice TV is not available on Xumo Stream Box at this time.
Can I buy movies and TV series?
Yes, you can rent or purchase thousands of movies and shows on Xumo Stream Box. Whether you’re looking for family-friendly, laugh out loud, drama or horror, we have something for every mood!
I have a 4K TV. Does Xumo Stream Box support 4K UHD streaming?
Yes! Xumo Stream Box supports 4K UHD streaming and provides access to 4K titles and content. 4K UHD content can be found using Prime Video, YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, and Xfinity On Demand currently, and more content will be added in the future. You'll need to have a 4K-compatible TV and, in some cases (like Netflix), a 4K subscription.
I currently subscribe to Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, Prime Video, Max, SHOWTIME online (or app), and/or other over-the-top (OTT) subscription services. Can I keep watching on Xumo Stream Box using my existing login information?
Yes. You'll be asked to sign in once you open the app on Xumo Stream Box.
I currently subscribe to Cinemax, Starz, and/or MGM+ online. Can I continue watching on Xumo Stream Box using my existing credentials?
No. You'll need to cancel your existing subscription and purchase these services through Comcast to access them on your Xumo Stream Box.
Does all my Xumo Stream Box content, including content from Comcast/NBCUniversal and my Xfinity Home Camera feeds, count against my internet usage?
Xumo Stream Box is an internet-only service, meaning all usage on Xumo is streamed over the internet. Video (including from Comcast and NBCUniversal), music, web cameras, and the Xumo Stream Box guide itself — all of these will count toward your internet usage.
Is pay per view (PPV) available on Xumo Stream Box?
No, not at this time.
How do I change the time on my Xumo Stream Box?
Select Settings > Device Settings > Time and Measurement Preferences. Here, you can make the time on your Xumo Stream Box display as a 24-hour or 12-hour clock, change the day/month/year format and make the units of measurement and temperature U.S. or Metric.
I purchased my Xumo Stream Box from xumo.com. Will my experience be the same?
Yes — you can enjoy all the same features if you purchased your device from xumo.com, including access to the Xfinity Stream app.
However, you won’t be able to upgrade to NOW TV from your Xumo Stream Box. Xumo Stream Box also cannot be set as your primary video service if you purchased your device from xumo.com.
Lastly, you may notice a few differences with your XR100 Remote, including the addition of app buttons.
Am I eligible for Xumo Stream Box if I’m an Internet Essentials customer?
Yes, Internet Essentials customers are eligible for Xumo Stream Box.
Am I eligible for Xumo Stream Box if I’m a Prepaid Internet, or Bulk TV customer?
No, Prepaid Internet and Bulk TV customers aren’t eligible at this time.
Xfinity Flex-related
Did Xumo Stream Box from Xfinity replace Xfinity Flex?
Yes, Xumo Stream Box replaced Xfinity Flex as a streaming box for all new Xfinity Internet customers. If you’re an existing Xfinity Flex customer, you can continue to keep your Xfinity Flex service with us.
I have an Xfinity Flex streaming TV Box. Why is there now a Xumo logo as part of my Flex home screen?
At Xfinity, we're committed to providing best-in-class entertainment. As part of the these efforts, we are beginning to transition Xfinity Flex customers to Comcast's latest entertainment experience. This is the first step on the journey to provide you with our newest entertainment experience.
There are no other changes to your Flex streaming TV Box at this time. Your content, features, and functionality all remain the same.
Is my bill changing?
The price of your Xfinity Flex streaming TV Box is not changing at this time, and your bill will remain the same.
Can I have both a Flex streaming TV Box and a Xumo Stream Box?
No, you can’t have both an Xfinity Flex and a Xumo Stream Box at the same time. If you need new equipment or want an additional box, or if you’d simply like to switch to the new Xumo Stream Box interface, you must swap your equipment to Xumo Stream Box.
