Many municipalities require that you obtain an alarm registration or permit for your Xfinity Home system or Self Protection Urgent Response feature. You should check with your municipality to find out what requirements they have and ask questions about the permit or registration.
Most of these municipalities will assess fines against you if you don't have the proper permit or registration. Other municipalities may even delay emergency response or refuse to send emergency personnel if you don't obtain the correct permit.
Once you have your permit or registration number, you must provide it to Comcast.
To ensure the dispatch of emergency personnel, you must update your Xfinity Home system permit information with your permit number using the Xfinity Home app. Self Protection Urgent Response feature users must update your permit information with your permit number using the Xfinity app. Unless otherwise indicated, it's your responsibility to obtain the permit or registration and renew it, as required by local law. You should contact your local municipality with any questions.
