Xfinity Home wants you to be prepared for your installation appointment. The Xfinity account holder or another responsible adult who is 18 years of age or older is required to be home during the appointment to make decisions about your security system and to sign the Residential Alarm Installation and Services Agreement and corresponding Equipment Addendum. This policy applies to both electronic and paper processes.
If you're moving your existing services to a new location, you must sign these documents as part of your Xfinity Home installation. For details, see the FAQs for Xfinity Home equipment transfers.
If the account holder isn't present to execute the Subscriber Agreement during installation, any responsible adult who is at least 18 years old and has the authority to make installation and service decisions (equipment type and location) may execute the contract. The individual who is home during the installation must be able to:
- Provide the login and password for the primary Xfinity ID.
- Create the master security code and password (that is provided to the Central Monitoring Station in the event of an alarm).
- Provide the Call to Notify/Verify numbers necessary to set up the system.
- Educate the account holder and other residents of the home regarding the features of the Xfinity Home system.
- Complete permit applications if required in your municipality.
- Some areas require an alarm permit to be executed at the time of install.
