Learn how to quickly and easily arm or disarm your system using the Keychain Remote in your Xfinity Home system. With a Keychain Remote, you can:
- Arm/disarm the system without codes.
- Have a convenient panic button next to your bedside or with your keys.

Which Keychain Remote do you have?
Your Keychain Remote communicates with your touchscreen. You must be within range of the touchscreen for the remote to work, and the range varies depending on which Remote you have.
Hitron Keychain Remote
The newly redesigned Hitron Remote has improved range (up to 328 ft), three simple buttons, and an LED that illuminates in three colors.
SMC Keychain Remote
The SMCKF01-Z features five easy-to-use buttons that illuminate in three colors.
Your Keychain Remote has five functions. Follow the instructions for the model of remote you have.
Arm Away
To activate Arm Away mode on either remote, press and hold the Arm or Arm Away button for 1.5 seconds.
Hitron Remote: Arm button
SMC Remote: Arm Away button
For both remotes, the LED/button flashes red once when the Remote contacts the system, then turns solid red when the Exit Delay begins.
If the LED/button flashes amber/orange seven times, the system cannot be armed because, for example, a door or window is open.
Arm Stay
To activate Arm Stay mode:
For the Hitron Remote, press, release, and then press and hold the Arm button for 1.5 seconds.
For the SMC Remote, press and hold the Arm Stay button for 1.5 seconds.
For both remotes, the LED/button flashes once when the Remote contacts the system, then turns solid red when the Exit Delay begins.
If the LED/button flashes amber/orange seven times, the system cannot be armed because, for example, a door or window is open.
Disarm
To disarm the system, press and hold the Disarm button for 1.5 seconds.
Hitron Remote: Disarm button.
SMC Remote: Disarm button.
For both remotes, the LED/button flashes green once when the Remote contacts the system, then turns solid green when the system is disarmed.
Panic button
If you need immediate police assistance, press and hold the Panic button for 2.25 seconds to send an alarm to the Central Monitoring Station.
Hitron Remote: Panic button.

For both remotes, the LED/button flashes red once when the Remote contacts the system, then flashes red seven times. The touchscreen emits an audible alarm.
Check system status
To check the current system status:
For the Hitron Remote, press, release, and then press and hold the Disarm button for 1.5 seconds.
For the SMC Remote, press the Status button for 1.5 seconds.
The LED/button flashes once when the Remote contacts the system, then indicates the system status:
- Solid green for three seconds means the system is disarmed.
- Solid red for three seconds means the system is armed.
- Solid amber for three seconds means the system cannot be armed because, for example, a door or window is open.
