Some Xfinity On Demand movies or TV shows may be offered for sale before they’re available to watch on your TV, computer or mobile device. Pre-orders may also contain extra content that you can view before you can watch the movie, episode, or season of the TV show you ordered.
Once it becomes available to watch, it will automatically appear in the Xfinity On Demand Purchases folder on your TV Box, online in the Xfinity Stream portal (xfinity.com/stream) and in the Xfinity Stream app.
With pre-orders, you won’t be charged until the title is available to watch.
Pre-order a title through a TV Box
- X1 TV Box: If a title is available for pre-order, the title will have a Pre-order option at the bottom of the information screen. Follow the prompts to pre-order.
- You may view your pre-order titles under the Saved > Purchases folder along with the availability details.
- Pre-order titles will be labeled PRE-ORDER to the right of the title.
- When your pre-order title is available for viewing, you will no longer see the PRE-ORDER label and your account will be charged.

Cancel a pre-order
All pre-orders can be canceled until the title becomes available. Please see the following options to cancel a pre-order:
X1 TV Box: To cancel a pre-order title ordered through an X1 TV Box:
- From your X1 TV Box, go to On Demand > Saved > Purchases and select the title you wish to cancel.
- If you pre-ordered the title from your X1 TV Box, you will be presented with an option to cancel the pre-order title. Select Cancel Pre-Order.
- Select Close. Your pre-order title will be canceled and your Comcast account won't be billed when the title becomes available.
FAQs
How will I know when a title I have pre-ordered is available to view?
You'll receive a Purchase Confirmation email confirming when the pre-ordered title is expected to be available. Pre-order titles ordered online will be charged to the credit card used at the time you ordered, and titles ordered through your TV Box will be charged to your Xfinity account.
What happens to my pre-orders if I move, discontinue my Xfinity TV service or cancel my Xfinity services all together?
When any of those events occur, any pending pre-orders will be canceled and you won't be charged when the title(s) become available. In the case of a move or transfer of service, you will need to pre-order the title(s) again.
