The Notification Center in Xfinity xFi provides new and recent notifications about important events that are happening on your home network, such as if your WiFi password changes or a new device connects to your network.
You can opt in to receive these home network notifications in real time through email, text or push notifications on your mobile device. You can also receive some notifications on your TV through the X1 Notification Center. Learn more about X1 notifications.

Accessing Your Notifications
You can access your notifications by selecting the Account tab from the bottom right of the Xfinity app and then selecting Your activity. Learn how to access the Notification Center on X1.

There are two types of xFi notifications: Network Access and Network Activity.
Network Access notifications alert you when a change is made that impacts access to your home network, including:
- WiFi name/password changes
- WiFi name changes from Broadcast to Hidden
- WiFi name changes from Hidden to Broadcast
- WiFi network security changes from Closed to Open
- Network IP address changes
- Gateway Factory Reset

Network Activity notifications alert you about user and device activity, including:
- When a new device joins your WiFi network for the first time.
- When a profile has reached their allotted active time.
- If there are threats that require your attention.
- Note: Only for customers that have Advanced Security enabled.
Managing Notification Preferences
To manage your notification preferences, select the gear icon on the Notifications page.
To receive notifications, your email address and/or mobile number needs to be associated with your account. To confirm that a number or email address is associated with your account:
- Xfinity app: Select the Account tab, then select Account settings and Notification settings.
Email, text and push notification preferences are each managed separately. To opt in to receive notifications, simply select the desired notification type and the appropriate checkbox for Network Access and/or Network Activity notifications.
Customers with push notifications enabled might receive notifications that contain a link that redirects them to run a device connection test. The push notifications could be sent to customers who connect a new device to their network or to a customer with a stationary device, such as a Smart TV, that might have a weak connection to the Gateway or WiFi Boost Pod.
