What are armed modes?
You can arm your system in three modes: Arm Away, Arm Stay, and Arm Night.
Arm Away
Arm Away gives you time to leave the house (Exit Delay) and then activates your system, including the motion sensors. When you come home, you have time to disarm the system (Entry Delay), so you don't trigger an alarm. If you activate Arm Away and no one leaves the house using a monitored door, the system automatically switches to Arm Stay mode.
Arm Stay
Arm Stay is for when you are at home and awake. Security features are activated as in Arm Away, but Motion Sensors are not (so you don't trip the alarm while you're in the house).
Arm Night
Arm Night is for when you are home and asleep. Security features are activated as in Arm Away, but motion sensors aren't activated unless they have been set to be active for Arm Night by your Xfinity technician during installation.
Motion sensors that are inactive during Arm Night (default) should include those in high-traffic areas where you may want to move around after bedtime.
Motion sensors that are active during Arm Night will trigger an alarm immediately if tripped and should be installed in low-traffic areas such as attics, garages and basements.
Exit Delay
- If you open and shut an entry or exit door during the Exit Delay and re-enter the premises, the Exit Delay restarts. It will only do this one time.
- If an entry or exit door is left open at the end of the Exit Delay, the Entry Delay immediately starts, and if the system isn't disarmed, an alarm will sound.
Arming and disarming
Your Xfinity Home system can be armed and disarmed from the following devices:
Note: You must disarm your Xfinity Home system within one minute (60 seconds) of entering the house or the system will trigger and notify your emergency contacts. If you wish to adjust this time frame (anywhere between 30 and 240 seconds) you can call an Xfinity agent.
