What is 24/7 Video Recording?
24/7 Video Recording automatically records video and sound* from compatible cameras and video doorbells connected to your Xfinity system.
With 24/7 Video Recording, you can go beyond live video. Keep an eye on your home from anywhere using your smart phone or other device. Use the Xfinity app or Xfinity Home app** to easily review all of your video from the past several days, or use motion and timestamps to go straight to the action — plus, download and share memorable events!

How much does 24/7 Video Recording cost?
Xfinity xFi and Xfinity Home customers can purchase 24/7 Video Recording for a low monthly rate. Visit the Xfinity website for info on current pricing. Note that at least one compatible camera or video doorbell is required for 24/7 Video Recording.
Is my camera compatible?
You need at least one compatible camera or video doorbell connected to your Xfinity system. Don't worry — if your current camera isn't supported, you can purchase an Xfinity Camera from us when you set up your account for 24/7 Video Recording.
What are the system requirements?
You'll need the following:
- The Xfinity app (3.45+) or Xfinity Home app (10.38+)
- Download them free of charge from the App Store or Google Play
- Note: Video doorbells are only available in the Xfinity app.
- Internet upload speed of 2 Mbps or more and download speed of 3 Mbps or more.
Notes:
- Safari on the iPad or iPhone does not support 24/7 Video Recording.
- The Xfinity app is only available to our customers with Xfinity Internet.
Will 24/7 Video Recording count toward my internet data usage?
Yes, cameras and video doorbells with 24/7 Video Recording continuously send video to the cloud, so that you can access the video anytime, anywhere. The camera transfers the video using your Internet connection, which contributes to your total data usage. If you have xFi, usage from 24/7 Video Recording will be reflected in your Data Usage Overview graph and count toward any data usage plan that may apply.
How much data does 24/7 Video Recording use?
The amount of data a camera or video doorbell uses depends on the amount of activity that takes place in the camera's view. If there's more motion such as people moving, cars passing or leaves rustling, the camera will use more data. With typical activity, an Xfinity Camera or Video Doorbell will use 100 GB per device, per month.
How many cameras can I have running 24/7 Video Recording?
The maximum number of Cameras that can be enabled for 24/7 Video Recording at the same time is six. Both cameras and video doorbells will count towards the maximum.
Can I choose which camera records video?
Yes. Once you purchase 24/7 Video Recording, the app will prompt you to choose which camera or video doorbell to record from. You can switch between cameras at any time.
Can I choose which camera sends me motion notifications?
Yes. You can turn Motion Notifications on or off for each camera or video doorbell and select which types of activity trigger a notification. (If you don’t have 24/7 Video Recording, you can still get motion notifications. You will be able to view your live feed, but there will be no recording of the triggering event.)
How do I turn on sound?
Camera sound for one-way and two-way audio will be turned off until you choose to turn them on. If you have the latest Xfinity Camera with two-way audio or a compatible Xfinity Video Doorbell, you can use the Xfinity app to turn on sound and use two-way audio. If you have and older Xfinity Camera with a built-in microphone but no speaker for two-way audio, you can use the Xfinity app or Xfinity Home app to turn on sound. How do I watch live video or motion event clips?
You can use your Xfinity app or Xfinity Home app to watch live video and motion event clips. Video doorbell live video and motion event clips can be viewed in the Xfinity app only.
Can I filter my video recordings?
Yes! You can set filters so that you see only motion events with people, vehicles or pets. If you have an Xfinity Video Doorbell, you can also filter by Doorbell Ring events. Learn how to use filters to quickly find the events that matter most to you.
How do I create custom video clips?
If you have Xfinity Home and a compatible camera or video doorbell, you can create custom video clips from the continuously recorded video.
How long is video saved?
Video from your 24/7 Video Recording cameras or video doorbells are continuously recorded to the cloud and is available for viewing and downloading for up to seven days.
How do I download motion event clips?
Video clips bookmarked by your 24/7 Video Recording-enabled cameras can be downloaded from the Xfinity app or Xfinity Home app. Video clips from your video doorbell can be downloaded from the Xfinity app only.
