Is This Your Thermostat? Make sure that your Thermostat looks like the one in the image below. If it does, you're in the right place to find out how to install a battery in your Thermostat.
- Locate the white panel on the bottom-front of the Thermostat. That's the battery cover.
- Hold one end of the cover and gently pull it away from the Thermostat.
- Completely remove the cover by holding the attached end of the cover and pulling it away from the Thermostat.
Take a Look. If there are batteries already present, remove them by using your fingertip to gently pull one end of each battery up until that battery is loose. Then, you can pull it free from the slot.
You will see three separate battery slots with positive (+) and negative (-) battery placement indicators. - Insert the first battery into the individual battery slot located in the lower middle section of the battery compartment. Match the positive (+) side of the battery with the positive (+) placement indicator located in the slot.
- Place the second battery in the top slot, matching the positive (+) placement indicator in the slot with the positive (+) side of the battery. This battery faces the opposite direction of the battery just placed.
- The third battery can be pushed into place by sliding the second battery placed to the right. The third battery will face the same direction as the second battery.
- When all three batteries are in place and facing the correct direction in the slots, the Thermostat's screen will light up.
- If you're replacing the battery, confirm that the low battery alert has resolved and the Thermostat appears on your list of connected devices in your touchscreen or the Xfinity Home app.
- Line up the tabs on the Thermostat with the tabs on the inside of the cover. Gently push on one end of the cover until it snaps into place. Then, snap the other end into place.
