Do you need a battery?
Make sure you have batteries before you proceed. Visit your nearest retail store that sells batteries or click the button below to order your replacement battery kit.
Call us at 1-800-XFINITY if you receive a low battery alert within 30 days of device installation.
How to install the batteries
Before proceeding, make sure that your system is disarmed. Working on devices while the system is armed can generate false alarms.
Is this your thermostat? Make sure that your thermostat looks like the one in the image below. If it does, you're in the right place to find out how to install batteries in your thermostat.
The thermostat display attaches to the wall mount by magnets. If already mounted, the wall mount remains attached during the battery installation.
- Grasp the thermostat display on both sides and gently pull it away from the wall mount to release the grip of the magnets.
Take a Look. If a battery is already present, remove it by gently using your fingertip to pull one end of the battery up until the battery is loose and you can pull it free from the slot. - Insert four AA batteries into the battery slots, positioning the positive (+) end of the batteries as indicated.
- Align the four screws on the inside corners of the thermostat display with the magnets on the corners of the wall mount. Confirm that the contacts on the wall mount align with the display circuit board and that the arrows on the back of the display are pointing up.
- Ease the thermostat display over the wall mount until the magnets connect with the screws to hold the display in place.
- When the batteries are inserted correctly, the display screen will become active.
- If you're replacing the battery, confirm that the low battery alert has resolved and the Thermostat appears on your list of connected devices in your touchscreen, Subscriber Portal or the Xfinity Home app.
