The Paramount+ app is available to Xfinity X1, Xumo Stream Box, and Xfinity Flex customers who sign up for a Paramount+ subscription.
With Paramount+, you can:
- Stream thousands of network shows and movies from CBS, MTV, Nickelodeon, BET and more.
- Enjoy exclusive original series like Star Trek: Picard, The Good Fight, and 1883.
- Watch all things SpongeBob, including SpongeBob the Movie: Sponge on the Run.
- Watch your local CBS station live, including NFL games available in your market and other sports, news, and entertainment.
Paramount+ is available with limited commercials or no commercials (pricing varies by plan). To sign up for a subscription, open the Paramount+ app on your TV and follow the steps provided.
To access Paramount+ programming, you’ll need:
- One of the following:
- A compatible streaming TV Box with X1 TV Box with Xfinity X1, Xumo Stream Box, or Xfinity Flex service (excludes Xi5 TV Boxes), including:
- Xfinity X1
- XG2v2 (Non-DVR; Pace Model)
- XG1v3 (DVR; Arris or Pace Model)
- XG1v4 (DVR; Arris Model)
- XiD (Non-DVR; Pace or Cisco Model)

Sign up for Paramount+
- Press the xfinity button on your remote.
- Select Apps.
- Select the Paramount+ tile.
- Note: You can also say “Paramount+” into your Voice Remote to open the app on Xumo Stream Box.
- When you enter the app, select Sign Up for Paramount+.
- Select a plan:
- Essential – Limited Ads or Paramount+ with SHOWTIME.
- Select if you’d like to be billed monthly or annually.
- Create your account by entering all the necessary information.
- Click Subscribe.
- If you’ve previously set up a Purchase PIN, you’ll be asked to enter it.
Sign in to the Paramount+ app
- Press the xfinity button on your remote.
- Go to the Apps menu on the X1, Xumo Stream Box, or Flex Home screen and select Paramount+.
- Note: You can also say “Paramount+” into your Xfinity Voice Remote to open the app.
- When you access the app for the first time, you’ll need to select Sign In.
- You can sign in using one of the methods displayed: On my TV or On the Web.
- If you choose On my TV, you’ll be asked to enter your Paramount+ email and password.
- Note: Forgot your email or password? Go to the Paramount+ Help Center.
- If you choose On the Web, you’ll be given a specific Paramount+ website to visit and an activation code.
- If you choose On my TV, you’ll be asked to enter your Paramount+ email and password.
Visit the Paramount+ website on a desktop or mobile device and enter your activation code. Once entered, you’ll be able to sign in with your existing Paramount+ account.
After you’ve signed into your Paramount+ account on a desktop or mobile device, you’ll see a confirmation screen on your TV and will be able to view content on your X1 TV Box, Xumo Stream Box, or Flex streaming TV Box.
View Paramount+ content
Once you’ve signed into Paramount+, you can view content using one of the options on the left-hand menu:
- Search: Search by title.
- Home: View popular/highlighted series or episodes.
- Note: The Home screen is viewed by default when opening the Paramount+ app.
- Shows: View and select content by genres such as Originals, Drama, Comedy, Reality and more.
- Movies: View and select movies by genres such as Action, Comedy and Kids and Family.
- Live TV: View your local CBS channel, CBSN, CBS Sports HQ or ET Live.
- Note: Live TV can also be found on the Home screen.
- News: View Top Stories and live news.
- Brands: View content from brands such as Nickelodeon, Smithsonian Channel and more.
Settings menu
Once you’ve signed into Paramount+, you can view some of your account details by accessing the settings menu.
- Open the menu on the left-hand side of the screen.
- Navigate to the gear icon.
- From there, you can see the email associated with your Paramount+ account and the Paramount+ plan you are currently subscribed to.
FAQs
Why can’t I access the Paramount+ app on my Xumo streaming TV Box or Flex streaming TV Box?
The Paramount+ app is available on most devices except Flex Xi5 devices; however, a swap app is available on Xi5 devices allowing you to upgrade to a compatible streaming TV Box. Please follow the prompts to order a Getting Started kit to upgrade your streaming TV Box.
Why can't I access the Paramount+ app on my X1 TV Box?
The app isn’t compatible with the following X1 TV Boxes: RNG150, Pace Xi3, Samsung XG2v2, and Arris and Pace XG1v1 TV Boxes. If you have one of these, you can exchange your ineligible TV Box on X1 by choosing the Paramount+ app tile.
I don’t have Xfinity TV but I have Xfinity Internet. Can I access the Paramount+ app?
Yes, but only if you have a compatible Xumo Stream Box or Flex and a subscription to Paramount+.
Do I need to sign up or sign in to use Paramount+?
You need to sign up for a Paramount+ subscription to use the app to watch their programming. Some content may already be available on X1, Xumo Stream Box, and Flex, but to access original premium content, you must sign in to and use the Paramount+ app to watch.

No, currently the Paramount+ app on X1, Xumo Stream Box, and Flex doesn't have 4K content.
Does watching Paramount+ count against my monthly internet data usage?
Yes, content is streamed over the internet and will count against your monthly data usage.
Are there any accessibility features?
Since these are third party applications, most of your accessibility user preferences on X1, Xumo Stream Box, and Flex will not be observed once you launch an app. However, you can enable the app’s own accessibility features, which will vary between each app.
How do I block access to Paramount+ on X1, Xumo Stream Box, and Flex?
There are two ways you can set parental controls for the Paramount+ app:
- Lock TV-MA content under Settings > Parental Controls > TV Rating Locks.
- Once locked, a Parental Control PIN is required before you can access the app.
- You can block access to the Paramount+ app using an Application Lock.
