Xumo Play is a free, ad-supported streaming app available on Xfinity X1 and Xumo Stream Box from Xfinity. There's no subscription or sign-up required, and you can start watching immediately.
When you launch Xumo Play, you unlock free access to:
- More than 300 free channels.
- Thousands of free movies on-demand.
- Local news networks.
- Popular TV shows.
- Comprehensive sports coverage.
- Family-friendly and educational kids programming.
What to stream
Free movies: Check out Xumo Play’s impressive selection of free, on-demand movies including exclusives, action packed thrillers, horror, science fiction, westerns, comedies, and more. When you open the Xumo Play app, you open the doors to a film library with thousands of movie titles in every genre.
Free live news: Xumo Play is your source for live, breaking news. It carries all the top national news networks. Tune in to your national or local news network of choice.
Binge your favorite crime, westerns, and reality TV: While you wait for the next episode or season to come out, Xumo Play has your favorite niche genre channels organized and ready to binge.
Free family movies and shows: Xumo Play’s selection of free family movies and TV shows are available on more than 10 on-demand channels.
To use the Xumo Play app on Xfinity devices, you'll need:
- A compatible X1 TV Box or Xumo Stream Box.
- Note: RNG150 isn't supported.
- Xfinity Internet service (any level).
Xumo Play is also available:
- On your TV with a third-party streaming device (Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Google TV, Android TV, or Chromecast).
- On a Smart TV such as Xumo TV, Vizio (SmartCast models), Hisense, or Samsung (Tizen powered TVs).
- Online by visiting play.xumo.com.
- On your mobile phone by downloading Xumo Play on iOS and Android devices.

Access Xumo Play
You can say, “Xumo Play” into your Voice Remote to launch the app, or find it on your:
X1 TV Box
- Press the xfinity button on your remote.
- Select Apps.
- Go to Xumo Play under Free movies & TV.
Xumo Stream Box
- Find it in the Apps row on the Xumo Home screen.
Live guide
When you open the Xumo Play app, you can browse the Live guide to see what's on more than 300 channels. Content will play immediately behind the Live guide.
From there, you can:
- Press the up and down arrows to browse channels by genre.
- Press the right arrow to scroll through the channels in the Live guide.
- Press the left arrow to launch the main menu and discover programs by Free Movies, TV Shows or Networks.
- Press the Exit/Last button to close the menu you picked (when you’re done exploring).
Livestream
While watching a livestreaming network in the Xumo Play app, you can press the down arrow on the remote to bring up additional features like player controls, channel surfing (up and down arrows), recommendations, and the Live guide.
Note: The Channel Up and Channel Down buttons will also change channels within the Xumo Play app.
Streaming channels or content may keep using internet data even if you turn off your device. To make sure Xumo Play doesn’t continue using your internet when you're not watching, log out or close out of the Xumo Play app.
Discover page
The Discover page contains curated content tailored to your interests and viewing history. It allows you to pick up where you left off and resume watching on-demand programs. You can open the Discover page by selecting the Discover icon from the main menu on the left side.
Settings
From Settings, you can turn closed captioning on or off for the Xumo Play app and also find privacy and support information.
