Types of keypad codes
All valid keypad codes can be used on the Wireless Keypad and touchscreen. In order to use a keypad code on the Xfinity Home app, the code holder must also have access.
Here's how to manage user roles and permissions on Xfinity accounts.
Master Keypad Code
An Xfinity Home system can only have one Master Keypad Code. With the Master Keypad Code, you can:
- Arm and disarm the system.
- Cancel an alarm.
- Add, change, and delete Secondary Keypad Codes.
- View and change touchscreen settings.
Secondary Keypad Codes
You can add Secondary Keypad Codes for friends and family members who only need limited access to your system. Secondary Keypad Codes cannot be used to add, change or delete other keypad codes. Only the Master Keypad Code can do that. You can create as many Secondary Keypad Codes as you need. The only limitation is that each code must be unique and may not be the same as the Master Keypad Code.
Three permission levels can be assigned to Secondary Keypad Codes.
Standard access:
- Can arm and disarm the system
- Can cancel an alarm
- Can access touchscreen settings, but can't make changes
Guest access:
- Can arm and disarm the system
- Can cancel an alarm
- Can't access touchscreen settings
Arm Only access:
- Can arm the system
- Can't disarm the system
- Can't cancel an alarm
- Can't access touchscreen settings
Help prevent false alarms: Make sure your Secondary Keypad Code users know what access level they have, what they can and can't do in the system, and on which days the code is active.
Duress Code
The Duress Code feature is no longer offered for new Xfinity Home customers. Existing customers with a Duress Code may still have the feature active until it is decommissioned later this year.
